Wladyslaw “Wally” Malyszek

Wladyslaw “Wally” Malyszek, 74, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021.  Wally was born on Jan. 5, 1947 to Wincent and Wladyslawa (Bzowy) Malyszek in Walbrzych, Poland. On April 30, 1993, he married Grace Josefina in Wheaton.  He drove truck for a company in Chicago that delivered the glass for the construction of the Sears Tower aka Willis Tower.  Later he became a roofer for many years and then after 9/11 he went back to driving truck until his retirement in 2011.

During retirement, Wally enjoyed working on cars especially for other people at no charge.  The joy was in the challenge of fixing the problem even to the detriment of losing sleep to figure it out.  He became an armchair weatherman; he was always watching the Weather Channel. Wally loved animals and many friends and acquaintances soon realized that those unwanted dogs and cats could have a home with him.

Wally is survived by his wife, Grace of Chana; daughter, Isabel Malyszek of Virginia; two grandchildren: Jeffrey Malyszek of Bloomingdale, and Veronica Malyszek of Virginia; and sister-in-law, Dorota (Bartlomiej) Bardzinski of Mt. Morris.

In addition to his parents, Wally is preceded in death by his son, Edward Malyszek; two brothers: Zygmunt and Edward Malyszek and two sisters: Zofia Kanak and Celina Staron.
