PORT BYRON — The Byron High School varsity wrestling team competed in the 2023 Jim Boyd Wrestling Invitational at Riverdale on Saturday, Dec. 9. Four Tigers earned medals, with Kyle Jones (6-0) finishing first while Jared Claunch (4-2) and Carsen Behn (5-1) each took second. Damien Palencios (6-2) placed third and Jackson Norris (6-2) finished fourth in the tournament. Brody Stien (4-5) took fifth and Will Julian (6-3) placed sixth to round out Byron’s top-6 finishers. The Tigers finished sixth overall as a team.
