WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — Several Stillman Valley Wrestling Club athletes traveled north for the 2024 Cheesehead Apocalypse 8U tournament in the Wisconsin Dells on March 29.
Among the Stillman Valley wrestlers representing the Basement Brawlers were Liam Ross (43 pounds), Evan Ross (52 pounds), Brycen Legue (58 pounds), Benson Grugel (61 pounds), Gavin Provancher (72 pounds) and Landon Haak (heavyweight).
The Basement Brawlers went 1-1 in the pool round, defeating Avon Indiana 56-13 and falling against DC Elite 41-26. The Basement Brawlers then went 2-1 in the championship bracket, winning 36-33 over Michigan Brawlers Red and 43-31 over Untouchables before falling 45-23 against ISI in the championship match.
Three of the individuals including Evan Ross, Benson Grugel and Brycen Legue wrestled in the individual 8U tournament, with Evan Ross taking third with an 8-2 record. All of the wrestlers from the Stillman Valley club earned All-American honors in the team tournament.
