OREGON – The cold weather has arrived, and warm coats and accessories are essential for staying warm. Because of this, two local youth groups, Ogle County 4-H and Oregon Avalanche, are partnering to “Spread the Warmth” during their winter gear drive from Oct. 16 through Nov. 15. You are helping everybody stay warm and comfortable during the midwestern winter months, so all sizes are accepted.
Donation bins are at the Ogle County Extension office at 421 W. Pines Road Suite 10 in Oregon, Oregon schools, and the Oregon Chamber of Commerce. Community members can donate new or gently used hats, gloves, scarves, mittens, winter coats, snow pants, and new socks. We ask that all items be in clean condition.
The donations will stay local and benefit Lifeline Food and Self-Help Project in Oregon, a volunteer-driven non-profit organization providing food and aid in the Ogle County area.
If you have any please contact the Ogle County Extension office at 815-732-2191.
