OREGON – Carole J. Wyatt, age 83, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at her home in Oregon, IL.  She was born June 8, 1940 in Princeton, IL the daughter of Fred and Margie (Hubbard) Hand.  She graduated from Dixon High School in 1958 and attended Rock Valley College. Carole was employed at the Union Savings Bank and worked in various other banks for 45 years before retiring in 2005.  She lived in Dixon, Mt. Morris, and Oregon most of her life.  She worked as director for the banks’ senior groups for 14 years.  She married Charles Martin in 1960.  She later married Strauda Wyatt in 1983.  He preceded her in death in 2022.  She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oregon, IL and served on the council in various positions at the church.  She also served on various officer’s positions for the HCEA.  Carole enjoyed going on trips with the Ogle County Senior Center.  She also enjoyed reading, baking items for her family, friends, and neighbors.  Once a year, Carole would help out Santa Clause with the many letters he received though the Nash Recreation Center.  Many people knew Carole because she was always out on daily walks in Oregon.  She was predeceased by her parents and husband Strauda Wyatt.  She is survived by her son Douglas (Kim) Martin, daughter Larraine (Thomas) Ferris, step-daughter Marilyn Meier, step-son Steve Wyatt all of Oregon, IL; and step-son Ronald (April) Wyatt of Palm Coast, FL; sister Bev Spears of Mt. Morris, IL; granddaughter Dr. Morgan Ferris-Johnston (Spencer Johnston) of Chicago, IL; nephew Winston Spears of Mesa, AZ; step-grandchildren Dustin, Joe, Ainsley, and Amanda.  A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, on Friday, May 10, 2024 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th Street in Oregon, IL with the Rev. Terese Whitten officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Dixon, IL.  A memorial fund is established in Carole’s name for the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oregon, IL.  Visit www.farrellhollandgale.com to leave a condolence or memory of Carole.
