STILLMAN VALLEY — Lisa K. Cook, age 62, passed away at home with her family by her side on Thursday April 18, 2024. Lisa was born on November 8, 1961 in Rockford, IL; the daughter of William C & Janice M. (Bonne) Wilson. She graduated from Byron High School class of 1979. Lisa married Lee R. Cook Jr. on October 14, 1989 in Rockton, IL; and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2006.
Lisa worked for Prairie View Golf Course for 20 years. Lisa loved to shoot trap and her team name was gunpowder and lead. She loved time with her family and friends, boating, her time on vacation in Florida and her time on the lake in Wisconsin, bowling; most of all her favorite time was with her grandchildren.
Lisa is survived by her son: Jared (Brenda) Cook, Byron, IL; grandchildren: Marlee, Madilyn, Landyn, Byron, IL; brothers: Matt (Tracey) James, Rockford, IL and Rance (Kelly) Wilson, Byron, IL; life Partner: Terry Minard, Stillman Valley, IL; brother in law: Mike (Tempe) Cook, Inverness, Fl; sister in law: Theresa (Dave) Papenfuss, Byron, IL; many nieces, nephews.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Lee R. “Butch” Cook Jr.
A celebration of life will be held on June 8, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Jarrett Prairie Center, 7997 North River Road, Byron, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
