BYRON – Grace Isabelle Thomas, 92, of Byron, passed away on Aug. 26, 2018 at Generations at Neighbors in Byron. She was born April 19, 1926 in Williamsfield, Ill., to Loren and Susie (Kimler) Spencer.
She was a longtime resident of Franklin Grove and a member of Franklin Grove United Methodist Church. She loved stamp collecting and was a leaf collector as well. She also loved to watch the Cubs whenever they were on.
Grace is survived by 6 children, Donald Wayne (Charlotte) Huber of Oswego, Jackie Lee (Leanne) Huber of Sun Prairie, Wiis., William Alan (Jill) Huber of Stillman Valley, Susan Louise (Terry) Mattes of Dixon, Jeffrey Paul (Cathy) Huber of Byron, and Gloria Ann (Mike) Ennenbach of Byron; 1 daughter-in-law, Caryn (Doug) Fisher of Rochelle; 3 sisters, Louise Mackie, Lorna (Gene) Yelm and Mary Lou (Richard) Baird, all of Williamsfield, Ill.; 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by both her parents; her spouse, Samuel Thomas; 1 son, Robert Loren Huber; 1 sister, Theda Dennison; 1 brother in infancy; 1 granddaughter; and 1 grandson.
Funeral Services were held at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018 at Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 601 Richardson Ave, Ashton, IL 61006. Visitation was held prior from 10 a.m. until time of service. A graveside service took place the next day, Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Williamsfield Cemetery in Williamsfield, Ill.
