The Forreston High School varsity softball team blew out Ashton-Franklin Center for a 22-4 victory on Monday, March 17.

Ogle County athletes earned medalist honors during the IWCOA Fresh-Soph & Girls Sectional at Sterling on Sunday. Wrestlers from Byron, Oregon, Rochelle, Polo and Stillman Valley advanced to the IWCOA Fresh-Soph & Girls State Championship meet.

Eight members of the Stillman Valley Wrestling Club competed in the 2025 IKWF State Championship at the Peoria Civic Center over the weekend. Four athletes earned medalist honors and Evan Ross brought home a state championship in the Boys Intermediate 55 Division.

Ogle County was well represented during the 2025 IESA State Championship at Northern Illinois University’s Convocation Center over the weekend, when middle-schoolers from Byron, Oregon, Stillman Valley and Polo earned medalist honors for their wrestling skills.

The Oregon High School varsity wrestling team advanced three wrestlers out of the IHSA 1A Oregon Sectional over the weekend.

The Polo High School varsity girls basketball team scored a 44-33 win over Fulton on Thursday, Feb. 6. Katelyn Rockwood finished with six points and 15 rebounds, while Cam Jones led the Lady Marcos with 26 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals. 

The Oregon High School varsity wrestling team scored 251 points to win the IHSA 1A Byron Regional on Saturday, Feb. 8. The Hawks landed four champions and 12 sectional qualifiers during the tournament. Oregon had three runner-ups and five third-place finishers.

The Byron High School Coop varsity boys swimming and diving team finished first with 66.5 points during the 2025 Northern Illinois Independent Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 8.
