Irvin H. Bolthouse

OREGON – Irvin H. Bolthouse, 61, of Oregon and formerly of Rockford, died Monday, July 16, 2016 in Swedish-American Hospital, Rockford. Born Sept. 4, 1956 in Rockford, the son of Henry, Jr. and Jean (Kappenman) Bolthouse.

Irv was raised in Oregon and graduated from Oregon High School in 1974 before living for a time in Rockford and then returning to Oregon. He was a Service Advisor for Napleton Auto in Rockford. Irv had a lifelong interest in cars, enjoyed thorough-bred horses, ice hockey, all Chicago sports teams especially the Blackhawks, wildlife photography and (loud) music.

Survived by his mother, Jean Bolthouse of Oregon; sons, Trevor Bolthouse of Chicago and Dirk Bolthouse of Dallas, Texas; brother, Gary (Becky) Bolthouse of Oregon; sister, Ruth Hufford of Benton, Mo.; and special friend, Debie Kerr of Rockford.

Predeceased by his father, Henry; brothers, Eugene and Dennis; and niece, Katherine Jean.

A Memorial Service was held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 19 in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon with Pastor Julie Bunt of Disciples United Methodist Church, Mount Morris officiating. No visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Irv's name may be made to the Rockford Hockey Club.
