BYRON – Marjorie Leota Emery, 82, of Anna passed away on April 29, 2018 at her home in Anna.

She was born Dec. 8, 1935 in Tamms, the daughter of Lewis Frederick and Estella (Brown) McDaniel. She married Dariel E. “Bud” Emery on Dec. 22, 1953, he preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2016.

Marjorie started working at Chicago Bank and Trust in the 1950’s. Then went to Barber Coleman.  Later she retired from Kysor in Byron.  Marjorie enjoyed visiting with her friends, collecting rocks, camping, fishing and “wildlife watching” from her back deck. She worshiped at Campground Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Daryl Jean (Rick) Messenger of Byron; grandchildren, Gary Lee Treese of Byron, Melissa Ann Phillips of Mount Morris; great granddaughters, Curissa and Corie Phillips; sisters-in-law, Patricia Carter of Byron, Marlene Emery of Dixon; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Lewis McDaniel, Loren “Red” McDaniel, and Gordon McDaniel; sister, Susan Jacox.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro.

Graveside Services were at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Campground Cemetery with Rev. Joe Vance officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Campground Church and Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home and cemetery.
