BYRON – Patricia A. Michalak, age 76, passed away on Nov. 5, 2019 at Oregon Living and Rehab Center. She was born on April 4, 1943 in LaSalle, the daughter of Leonard and Julia (Podlinki) Kierski.

Patricia married Jerome Michalak on Oct. 6, 1962. She worked as a waitress at Don’s Café for many years. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Byron where she enjoyed helping with church picnics and singing in the choir. In her spare time, Patricia enjoyed crafts and embroidery as well as gardening and working in her yard. She loved her family and her dogs.

She is survived by her children, Jerry “Jerome” Jr. (Sherri) Michalak of Freeport, Kathy (Gary Oltmanns) Bradbury of Oregon, Debbie (Tommy) Crawford of Friendship, Tenn., Matthew (Michelle Weems) Michalak of Byron, and Mark Michalak of Forreston; siblings, Paula Sittler of Peru and Eugene Kierski of Peru; grandchildren, Michelle “Mickey”, Jay, Tina, Cody, Chrissy, Taylor, Trisha, and Franklyn; great grandchildren, Breanna, Hayley, Kylie, Johnathan, Lillie, Sydney, Logan, Zeke, and Adrianna; very dear caretakers, Linda Dueth and Lorrie Nesemeier; and special dog Coda.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 3 brothers.

Christian funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Byron with Father Father Rich Rosinski officiating. Visitation was held at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., concluding with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Byron.
