Robert “Bob” E. Long

OREGON – Robert “Bob” E. Long, age 71, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018 at the Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Oct. 20, 1947 in Byron, the son of Clarence and Burnetta (Coy) Long. 

Bob formally worked for Insul-Mor in Oregon and also for Sinnissippi Tree farm and Helle Saw Mill.  Bob loved to share time with his family, weather it was going to a restaurant or spending Christmas with them. He loved to tell stories, watch basketball games, and old westerns on TV.  He loved riding in the boat in Missouri, and loved Mopar Cars. He collected John Wayne and New York Yankee Baseball items. He also loved is dog Ginger. 

Bob was predeceased by his parents and infant twins Robert, Jr. and Yolanda Sue. 

He is survived by his brother Jerry (Leslie) Long of Mt. Morris, and 3 sisters; Linda (Jim) Ray of Byron, Penny (Jim) Pennington of Spruce Pine, Ala., and Evelyn Bushland of Mt. Morris, and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 at the East Oregon Church of God with the Chaplin Willard E. Little officiating. Visitation was prior to the service at the church from 10-11 am. Burial in the Daysville Cemetery near Oregon. A memorial fund is established in his name.
