OREGON – Sarah H. Whetsel, 96, longtime Oregon resident, died Friday July 20, 2018 in her home. Born May 25, 1922 in La Junta, Colo., the daughter of Albert E. and Laura (Bauer) Moss.
Married to Roy Whetsel June 22, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa; he died March 8, 2000. Sarah was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oregon and its Ladies Circle.
Survived by: her son, Jack (Alma) Whetsel of Oregon; daughter, Lazzetta (Charles) Bruce of Dixon; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
Also predeceased by her parents; son, Martin Whetsel; and 3 brothers.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28 in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon preceded by a visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Pastor Rich Tomlinson of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oregon officiated. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Dixon. Memorials in Sarah's name may be made to Village of Progress, Oregon or Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon.
