Wallace ‘Wally” Kilker

FORRESTON – Wallace ‘Wally” Kilker, 88, of Forreston, died Feb. 14, 2019 at Pearl Pavilion in Freeport. He was born Jan. 13, 1931 in Freeport, the son of Ervin and Dorothy (Hartje) Kilker.

Wally married Wilma Saxby June 22, 1951; she died Sept. 16, 2001.

Wally worked for Groenewold Fur & Wool and was an auctioneer for Mack Auction. He was a member of North Grove Evangelical Church and the Forreston Lions Club. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Forreston Cardinal fan. He enjoyed gardening.

Wally is survived by his three sons, Russell Kilker of Lake Summerset, Randy Kilker of Hypoloxo, Fla., and Kirk (Kathy) Kilker of Batavia; his daughter, Valerie (Dave) Pettett of East Peoria; three sisters, Phyllis (Lawrence) Ascher; Rhoweena Genandt, and Shirley (David) Vietmeier; seven grandchildren, Kelly, Kristyn, Sean, Allison, Donovan, Aaron, and Kelsey; and his great-granddaughter Bella.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years Wilma; and brother-in-law, Alan Genandt.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at North Grove Evangelical Church with Rev. Timothy Hotchkiss officiating. Visitation was from 3-7 p.m. Friday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Burial in North Grove Evangelical Cemetery.
