OREGON – Weslee Liam Rice, 17, of Oregon died Saturday April 14, 2018 at Rockford Mercy Health as a result of injuries sustained in an accident. Born Aug. 29, 2000 in Austin, Minn., the son of William H., Jr. and Sandra Lee (Haller) Rice.

He was a junior at Oregon High School where he had been active in football, track and weight lifting. Weslee loved to skate and snow board, hiking and spending time with his friends playing video games. He was a member of Riverstone Christian Church in Oregon.

Survived by his parents, Bill and Sandy Rice of Oregon; brothers, Will Lee Rice and Wylee Leland Rice of Oregon; paternal grandfather, William H. Rice, Sr. of Tomah, Wis.; and many aunts and uncles.

Predeceased by maternal grandparents, Phillip H. and Donna Haller; paternal grandmother, Linda G. Rice; and aunt, Beverly Kay Rieger.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21 Blackhawk Center, Oregon with Pastor Craig Arnold and Pastor Lance Mennen co-officiating. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Friday in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon. A memorial fund has been established for the Oregon High School football program.
