Container garden workshop set

Posted

The Oregon Park District, Hagemann Horticulture and Merlin’s Greenhouse have partnered offering workshops on planting a spring container garden.

This is always a popular workshop so there are three dates to choose from. Participants will learn everything they need to know about planting, soil, watering and caring for your spring planter.  Hagemann Horticulture/Merlin’s Greenhouse staff will walk you through the greenhouse educating participants on plants and if they thrive best in sun or shade. They will talk about choosing plants that complement each other, how to arrange the plants for aesthetics and more.  Participants will then get to choose 5 plants for their 14” pot.

To register for these workshops, visit www.oregonpark.org. You can also register over the phone by calling Nash Recreation Center at 815-732-3101.  Choose between 3 class dates: April 27, 6:30-8 p.m., April 28, 6:30-8 p.m. or May 3, 6:30-8 p.m.  Class fee is $49/Resident or $59/Non-Resident. Registration Deadline is April 20.
