OREGON – Dr. Harold F. Best of Oregon, died June 6 after a fall at home. He was born July 15, 1941 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
As a clinical psychologist he enjoyed his private practice for more than 30 years. A perfect Sunday consisted of doing the NY Times crossword in ink, a football game on TV, and an entire pot of coffee. He enjoyed good tobacco, good company, and a good read.
Preceded in death by wife Diane, children Julie, Andy and Stevie Best, brothers Michael, Roger, and sister Mary.
He will be missed by wife Miranda, children Bryce (Amie) Austin, Lyrah (Ned) Austin-Bushnell, Alex (Sabrina) Best, Marissa Best, grandchildren, Liam & Kellen Austin, plus many others who loved his dry humor and gentle confidence.
An open-house celebration of his life will be held at Maxon’s Manor 1469 IL-2, Oregon, June 22 from 4-7 p.m.
Instead of flowers, memorials will be offered to Harold’s favorite charities.
