FORRESTON – The Forreston FFA Alumni will be accepting sealed bids on a Massey Ferguson 1130 diesel tractor that has been refurbished by students.

The tractor is a late model 1964 that has 4700 hours and approximately 100 horsepower. It has updated features that were not available on early 1964 versions. Larry and Dawn Mathiot donated this tractor to the Forreston FFA Alumni. It was a part of the Robert and Joan LaBudde Trust of Cedar Creek Farms, Cedarville, Illinois.

The students and their supervisors made a variety of repairs and improvements on the tractor. Some of these features include:

* New front tires

* Rear tires in good condition with power adjust rims

* New engine clutch

* New PTO clutch

* Repaired 3 pt. hitch

* New alternator and regulator

* Original paint

Questions regarding this tractor may be directed to Rod Wichman at 815-275-5615. Photos of the 1130 are posted on the Forreston FFA Alumni’s website at forrestonffaalumni.org. The website also contains a bid sheet that can be downloaded. The tractor will be available for viewing at the Forreston FFA Alumni Toy and Craft Show at Forreston High School on Saturday, March 9.

Sealed bids not using the form from the website should include the name of the bidder, the bidder’s phone number and email, as well as the bid itself on a piece of paper. Bids may be sent to Mr. Wichman at 5841 S. Baileyville Rd., Baileyville, Ill., 61007. The bidding will be open until March 31. The Forreston FFA Alumni reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
