STILLMAN VALLEY — Jo Ann Southwick, age 84, of Stillman Valley, IL, died Monday, August 19, 2024 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System in Morristown, TN surrounded by her three children. She was born July 29, 1940 in Holcomb, Illinois the daughter of John Wesley and Daisy Florence (Wallace) Traver, Sr. She graduated from Rochelle High School in 1958. Jo Ann married Dave Southwick on December 19, 1958, in Rochelle. She was a member of the Red Brick Church in Stillman Valley.
Jo Ann loved her family and was the greatest supporter in her children’s lives. She loved God, life, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and was fondly known as “Gma”. She loved being a Critter’s Girl. Jo Ann had a bright smile and a huge heart. Her favorite quote was “This too shall pass”.
She is survived by her 3 children: Michael Southwick of Stillman Valley; Patrick (Christina) Southwick of Byron; and Terri Beach of Mosheim, TN; grandchildren: Brandie (Nicholas) Mowell, Kyle (Kerri) Henry, Ryan (Kaleb) Southwick, Ashley (Andrew) Gronewold, Tyler (Andrea) Volkers, Amy (Nick) Mullens, Amanda (Jeremy) Horner, Ashley (Timothy) Loomis, and JJ (Janie) Beach; 14 great grandchildren, and her brother John (Patricia) Traver of Oregon, IL,
She is predeceased by her husband, David, parents John and Daisy Traver, her son-in-law Bo Beach, nephew John Traver III, and niece Tiffany Traver, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Stillman Valley, IL with the Rev. Chris Brauns pastor of the Red Brick Church officiating.
