New nutrition series starts soon

OREGON – Are you looking to ramp up your nutrition to improve your overall wellness? Do you get lost in calorie counting or wonder if fats are truly bad for you? Have you tried every “diet” and find it hard maintain? Do you want to eat healthier but not sure where to start?

The Oregon Park District is offering a new nutrition series to answer your questions. This classes will give you the tools to incorporate practical healthy eating strategies into your everyday lifestyle.

Taught by a registered nurse and Certified Health Coach, Elizabeth Priller, each class will include a healthy snack, recipe, or live demonstration of flavorful, vibrant, and nutritious foods.

The cost for each class is $28/resident and $34/non-resident. Register for all classes and receive a special discount. Cost to attend all four classes is $96/Resident and $115/Non-Resident. In addition to the discount each person registering for the four classes will receive a twenty-minute personal health coaching consultation with Elizabeth Priller (a $30 value) and can purchase additional coaching packages at ten percent off.

Classes are:

* Cooking by Color on Saturday, May 18 from 9-11 a.m. Deadline to register is May 11. Each participant will take home a custom product.

* Healthy Eating on a Budget will be held on Saturday, June 1 from 9-10:30 a.m. Deadline to register is May 25. Healthy snacks will be provided with take home recipes.

* Food and Mood will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 9-10:30 a.m. Deadline to register is June 8. This class will feature healthy snacks and make and take your own trail mix.

* The final class in the series is Mindful Eating and will include fresh fruit food samples. This class will be3 held on Saturday, June 29 from 9-10:30 a.m. The deadline to register is June 22.
