Sept. 22

Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Kenny Wollitz, 35 of Rockford, for Driving While License Revoked. Wollitz was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies on Hwy 251 near Davis Junction after being stopped for Speeding. Wollitz was also arrested for 2 outstanding Rockford warrants. Wollitz was held in lei of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Aaron Harvey, 30 of Holcomb, for Disorderly Conduct. Harvey was arrested after a disturbance at a residence in Holcomb. Harvey was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Sept. 21

At approximately 4:10 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a Motorcycle Accident in the 6700 blk of West Illinois Route 72. After an investigation it was learned that Ronald Witherby, 50 of Rockford, struck the rear of another motorcycle, which caused Witherby to lose control of his motorcycle. Witherby was airlifted to St Anthony's Hospital for non life threatening injuries. Witherby was issued citations for Driving on a Revoked License, No Motorcycle Classification, Expired Registration, Operating a Vehicle With No Insurance, and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. D and W towing removed the vehicle from the location.

The Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Seth Maurer, 34, of Leaf River for DUI. Maurer was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies on Hwy 251 near Dutch Road after he was stopped for Improper Lane Usage. Maurer was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.

Sept. 20

At 12:20 p.m. and 12:51 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff's Office responded to two noise complaints at Sledgehammers Bar 1450 N. Route 2, Oregon.  After meeting with the complainants in reference to the loud music, Deputies arrested the bar owner, Jason Stombaugh, at Sledgehammers Bar.  Stombaugh was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he posted bond and was given an October court date.

Sept. 19

At 12:13 AM the OCSO and Oregon Fire Dept. were dispatched to a one vehicle crash in the 4800 block of S. Prairie Road. Investigation by deputies revealed that a pick up truck driven by Scott Pumfrey 58 of Chana was traveling south on Prairie Road when he lost control. Pumfrey's vehicle then skidded off of the roadway and struck a tree before overturning. Pumfrey was extricated from the truck by firefighters and transported by ambulance to KSB in Dixon for what appeared to be minor injuries. Pumfrey was arrested for DUI and will appear in Ogle County court at a later date. 

At 10:16 a.m. the Ogle County Sheriff's Office, Polo Fire Department, Polo Ambulance, and the Polo Police Department responded to a one vehicle accident with injuries on IL Route 52 at Mt. Vernon Road. A Grey Hyundai Elantra was eastbound on Route 52 when the vehicle drove off onto the right side shoulder. The vehicle then crossed over both lanes to the north side shoulder before coming back onto the roadway.  The vehicle then left the north side of the road striking an embankment and coming to a stop in the north ditch. The driver Katelynn M. Smith, 26 of Dixon, had a minor facial injury however she refused any further medical treatment.  assengers Justus M. Denomy, 11 of Savanna, Olivia R. Smith, 3 of Dixon, and Jaylen J. Anderson, 1 of Dixon were uninjured.

Sept. 17

At approximately 1:47 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop at E IL Rte. 64 at Skare Rd.  After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Lauriel L. Tahara, 48, of Hanover Park, for two counts of Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, and DUI-Alcohol.  Tahara was also cited for Speeding, Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle,  and Open Container of Alcohol.  Tahara was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was released to the Corrections Staff and held with no bond. 

At approximately 8:15 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover accident at the intersection of IL Route 26 and IL Route 64. After a brief investigation, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Adam Murray, of Mount Morris for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Murray was transported to the hospital and later released on an I-Bond.  Murray was also cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Failure to Reduce Speed, and Failure to Obey a Stop Sign. Murray will appear in court at a later date.

Sept. 16

At approximately 12:15 a.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Henry Road and Fox Lane Road. After further investigation Charlotte Wade, 34 of Polo, was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Wade was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

The following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:

Jessica Erdman, 42, of Rochelle for Failure to Appear. Erdman has a bond of $4,635 and will go to court on 09/16/20 at 1 p.m.

Vidal R. Mancilla, 28, of Rochelle for Failure to Appear. Mancilla has a bond of $11,448 and will go to court on 09/16/20 at 1 p.m.

Darrell D. Reed, 32, of Byron for Domestic Battery Warrant. Reed has a bond of $25,000/10%/ Reed will go to court on 09/16/20 at 1 p.m.

James Wilkow was taken into custody on an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Aggravated Battery with a bond of 20,000/10% percent Wilkow remains in the Ogle County Jail and will appear in court on 9-17-2020 at 1 p.m.

Sept. 15

At approximately 6 p.m., Deputies responded to a report of a domestic battery. After investigation, Deputies arrested Ronald Reittinger, 37 of Leaf River, for Domestic Battery. Reittinger was also issued a citation for Driving While License Suspended. Reittinger was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

At approximately 2:10 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 6000 block of North Illinois Rte 251. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Scott L. Thorne, 48 of Rockford, for No Valid Driver's License. Scott was also cited for No Insurance, an equipment violation along with a valid Boone County Warrant. Thorne was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Sept. 14

At approximately 9:36 a.m. Deputies conducted a traffic at the intersection of IL Rte. 64 and Grandview Terrace.  After investigation, Deputies placed Timothy Marszalek, 29, of Arlington Heights under arrest for Driving While License Revoked and Obstructing Identification. Marszalek was additionally issued a citation for Improper Display of Registration. Marszalek was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond. 

Sept. 13

Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a follow up investigation at 1450 N. Il. Rte 2, Sledghammers' Bar in reference to two seperate Noise Complaints at the bar the previous night (09/12/20). As a result, 34 year old Jason Stombaugh of Oregon was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

Sept. 12

Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to Sledgehammers Pub at 1450 N IL Rte 2 for a noise complaint of loud music. After a brief investigation, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Pub manager Justin Coltrain for Disorderly Conduct. Coltrain was released on an I-Bond and will appear in court at a later date.

Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were again dispatched to Sledgehammers Pub at 1450 N IL Rte 2 for a noise complaint of loud music. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies again arrested manager Justin Coltrain for Disorderly Conduct. Coltrain was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was able to post bond.

Sept. 11

Walter C. Brady, 21 of Dixon, was arrested for two outstanding Ogle County warrants for Failure to Appear and Criminal Damage to Property. Brady has two bonds, $1,608.03 full cash and $5,000/10%. Brady was unable to post bond and will appear in court on 09/11/20 at 1:00 p.m.
