Dec. 3
The following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
Leon Johnson, 39 of Lanark was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Carry / Display of License Plate. Johnson did not post the $3,000 10 percent bond and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Johnson will appear in court on 12-04-18 at 1 p.m.
Brian Albee, 31 of Amboy was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear. Albee did not post the $2849 Full cash bond and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Albee will appear in court on 12-04-18 at 1 p.m.
Dec. 4
The following were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
James Morrison, 57, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Morrison has a bond of $6,346, and will go to court on 12/05/18 at 1 p.m. Morrison remains in the Ogle County Jail.
Damien Sims, 20, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Sims has a bond for $632, and will go to court on 12/05/18 at 1 p.m. Sims remains in the Ogle County Jail.
Dec. 2
At 4:53 a.m. the Ogle County Sheriff's Office, Linscott Rock Fire Department, and Linscott Rock Ambulance responded to a one vehicle rollover accident with injuries in the 15,000 block East Holcomb Rd. A white Ford Fusion was eastbound on Holcomb Rd when the driver Jacob Doane, 20 of Davis Junction, failed to negotiate the curve in the road. Doane's vehicle left the north side of Holcomb Rd, striking a tree, and rolling over on its roof. Doane was transported to Swedish American Hospital by Linscott Rock Ambulance with minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
At approximately 8:56 a.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies, Oregon EMS, and Oregon Fire Department responded to the 2400 block of South Rocky Hollow Road at the BNSF Railroad tracks in reference to a train vs truck accident. Upon arrival, Deputies learned Jeff Pruski, 43 of Sandwich was driving a 2015 Chevy Colorado and was stopped facing southbound on Rocky Hollow Road just north of the tracks as the train was approaching. Pruski then drove southbound around the gate arm which was working properly just as the train was approaching the intersection traveling westbound. The train then struck the driver's side of the truck and was pushed just off the northwest side of the roadway before coming to rest. Pruski was transported to Mercyhealth Hospital in Rockford in critical yet stable condition. The accident remains under investigation.
Nov. 30
William Smalley, 47 of Rockford was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for Failure to Appear with a bond of $1,545.95 Full Cash. Smalley was released on a Recognizance Bond and will appear in court on 12-31-18 at 9 a.m.
Nov. 29
At approximately 8:45 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop at 201 McConaughy Ave in Rochelle. After a short investigation Montavion Ross, 35, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and cited for an equipment violation.
At 4:43 am the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Linscott Rock Fire Department and Linscott Rock Ambulance responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on Holcomb Road and Armour Road. A green Dodge Caravan was travelling westbound on Holcomb Road when the vehicle drove into the north ditch striking a culvert. The vehicle then went airborne striking a stop sign and then rolling over several times prior to coming to a stop in the field. The driver of the vehicle had left the scene on foot prior to emergency vehicles arriving. After a further investigation, the driver Kyle D. Smith, 27 of Byron was located at 109 Main St. Holcomb at 7:24 a.m. Smith was uninjured from the accident and was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, and no valid driver’s license. Smith was given a January court date and will appear in court at that time.
Nov. 27
The following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County Warrants:
Heather L Heathcott, 39 of Mt. Morris for Failure to Appear with a $1,200 Full Cash Bond. Heathcott was released on a Recognizance Bond and will appear in court on 11-30-18 at 9 a.m.
Robin A Weatherall, 30 of Rockford for Failure to Appear with a $1,243 Full Cash Bond. Weatherall was released on a Recognizance Bond and will appear in court on 12-05-18 at 9 a.m.
Nov. 25
At 12:56 a.m. Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I39 near Creston Rd for a headlight violation. During the course of the traffic stop it was learned that the driver, Ignacio Gonzalez Cantu, 36, of Mounds View, MN was driving on a revoked license. He was subsequently arrested for Driving While License Revoked and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he remained in lieu of bond.
On 11-23-18 at 5:19pm deputies made a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Illinois Rte 2 and arrested Charles Williams, 50, of Franklin Grove for driving while license suspended. Williams also recieved citations for improper use of registration, no seat belt, and no insurance. Williams was held at the Ogle Co Jail in lieu of bond.
