Nov. 7
At approximately 6:32 p.m., Ogle County deputies responded to a driving complaint in the area of IL Rte. 38 and Beck Road. The vehicle was located in Creston. After investigation, Kevin Jarm, 42 of Elburn, was placed under arrest for DUI-Alcohol. Jarm was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Jarm was also cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
Nov. 5
Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Zachary Mann, 32 of Rochelle for driving while license suspended and an outstanding Ogle County traffic warrant. Mann was arrested by deputies on I-39 after being stopped for speeding. Mann was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.
At approximately 5:03 p.m., Ogle County deputies responded to 211 Powers Road in Hillcrest for a two vehicle accident. After investigation, Laritza Deler-Carcasses, 30 of Rochelle, was placed under arrest for driving on a suspended license. Carcasses was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond. The accident is still under investigation.
At approximately 7:48 p.m., Ogle County Deputies responded to a residence in the 5500 block of W Lightsville Road (Leaf River) for the report of a domestic disturbance no longer in progress. After investigation, Deputies arrested David A. Stark, 38 of Leaf River, for Aggravated Domestic Battery and Interfering With the Reporting of Domestic Violence. Stark was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held with no bond.
Nov. 4
At 6:45 a.m.., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the 8000 block of N. IL Rt. 251 for speeding and improper lane usage on a white Chevrolet Malibu. The vehicle fled from the Deputy attempting to conduct the traffic stop, and a short pursuit began, but was terminated shortly after it began. After an investigation, the vehicle was later located in Steward. The driver of the vehicle, Kory Barber, was taken into custody, and charged with aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, no valid driver’s license, speeding 35+ over the speed limit, and improper lane usage. Kory was transported to the Ogle County jail and held until his appearance before a judge.
Nov. 2
At 9:25 p.m., deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in the 200 block of S. Division Ave. in Polo IL. As a result of the investigation, Yancy L. Webster, 56 of Polo, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Obstructing Identification, Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer, and Violation of the Concealed Carry Act. Ryan T. Dawson, 31 of Polo, was arrested for Obstructing Identification, and Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer. Both Webster and Dawson were also cited for Unlawful Transport/Possession of Open Alcohol. Both Webster and Dawson were transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond.
At 6:49 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff's deputies along with the Rochelle and Hillcrest Fire depts. responded to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Hwy 251 and Rte 64. Investigation by deputies revealed that a south bound vehicle operated by Shirley Rees, 82 of Steward Illinois failed to yield at the intersection and struck a westbound vehicle operated by Charles Myers age 64 of Mount Morris, Il. Rees was transported by Rochelle Fire Dept ambulance to the Rochelle Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Deputies cited Rees for failure to yield at an intersection.
Nov. 1
Thre Ogle County Sheriff's deputies arrested Deprise Nolton, 29 of Montgomery, Ill., for driving with no valid license. Nolton was arrested by deputies on I-39 near Monroe Center after being stopped for speeding. Nolton was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County jail.
At approximately 7:28 p.m., Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the in intersection if IL Rte 72 and Pecatonica Road. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Darius D. Triplett, 30 of Rockford, for Driving on a Revoked License. Darius was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Darius was also cited for Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Unsafe Backing on a Roadway.
At 10:51 p.m. Ogle County Deputies were dispatched to a one vehicle accident in the 8000 block of N. IL. RTE. 251. After a brief investigation it was learned that a maroon Chevy SUV, driven by 38 year old Kari Schmidt of Cherry Valley, was southbound and left the west side of the roadway. The SUV traveled in the ditch and then struck a field entrance and the vehicle overturned coming to rest on the roof. Schmidt was the driver and only occupant of the vehicle. Schmidt was placed under arrest for DUI and given citations for Improper Lane Usage and Not Driving on the Right Side of the Lane. Schmidt was taken to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
Oct. 31
At approximately 12:22 a.m., Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 1,000 block of N. IL Rte. 2. After investigation, Deputies placed Alexsandro Cervantes Huerta, 20 of Rockford under arrest for No Valid Driver's License. Cervantes Huerta was released on an I-Bond at the scene and was given a future court date.
Oct. 29
At 1:49 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 18000 block of Illinois Rte 64, and after a short investigation arrested Andrew Rodriguez, 20 of Rockford for no valid driver's license. Rodriguez was released at the scene and will appear in court on 12-3-21 at 0900.
At approximately 2:03 p.m. Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1500 block of N. Union Rd involving a 2013 Buick Regal operated by Kym M. Bernard, 57 of Polo. After investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle was travelling North on Union Rd when the vehicle veered to the left side of the roadway striking a culvert causing the vehicle to overturn and land off the west side of the road. Bernard was transported to KSB for minor injuries by Polo FD. Bernard was cited for Improper Traffic Lane Usage, and Seat Belt Required.
Oct. 28
Ogle County Deputies investigated a vehicle stalled in the roadway in the 8000 block of E. IL. RTE. 64. The driver of the vehicle, 29 year old Jacob Quade of Rochelle, was arrested for No Valid License. Quade was given an I-Bond on scene and released with a pending court date.
Oct. 27
At approximately 2:09 a.m., Deputies responded to the 12,000 block of N. Baileyville Road in reference to a property damage only accident involving minor damage. After investigation, Deputies placed Michael Sides, age 56 of Rockford under arrest for Driving under the Influence of Alcohol. Sides was additionally issued citations for improper use of registration, unsafe backing on the roadway, illegal transportation of alcohol, and unlawful possession of cannabis(driver). Sides was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
At approximately 9:23 a.m., Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 17,000 block of E. IL. RTE. 38 involving a Chevrolet sedan and Freightliner tank truck. The driver of the Chevrolet, Christine Hughes (age 45) of Rochelle, struck the Freightliner as it was turning. Hughes was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for minor injuries. Hughes was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
Oct. 26
At approximately 11:50 p.m. Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 7,000 block of N. River Road. After investigation, Deputies placed Lucas Tuttle, 35 of Byron under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Tuttle was additionally issued a citation for an inoperable registration light. Tuttle was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
At approximately 6:22 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-39 at mile marker 111. After, an investigation, Deputies arrested Aniyah Jordan, 18, of Robbins, Ill., for driving while license suspended. Jordan also received citations for no insurance and speeding. Jordan was given an I-bond for her citations, and will appear in court at a later date.
At approximately 4:40 p.m., Ogle County Deputies responded to the 300 block of Main Street in Forreston, IL in reference to a domestic complaint. After brief investigation, Deputies arrested Matthew J. Peace, 56 of Freeport IL, for Domestic Battery. Peace was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to Correctional Staff and held in lieu of bond.
Oct. 25
At 11:59 hours, Deputies responded to Illinois Rte. 72 and Mill Rd. for a two-vehicle crash. After a short investigation it was learned that a 2015 Dodge Dart driven by Samantha Norup, 26 of Byron, was traveling east on Illinois Rte. 72 and failed to give the right away to a 2016 Jeep driven by Jacqueline Dietrich, 60 of Byron, that was turning north onto Mill Rd. Dietrich was transported to a Rockford Hospital for minor injuries by Byron Fire. Norup refused medical and received citations for driving without valid insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Norup was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to pay fines and transported to the Ogle Co. Jail. Deputies were assisted on scene by Byron Fire.
At approximately 10:52 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 11,000 Block of E. IL Rte. 38. After investigation, Deputies placed David Coil, 34 of Ashton under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance (tramadol), Possession of a Controlled Substance (morphine), and Improper Container Driver. Coil was additionally issued citations for improper tint and expired registration. Coil was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.
Oct. 24
At 12:29 a.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office and Lynn Scott Rock Fire Dept. were dispatched to a single vehicle roll over crash on Hwy 251 near Holcomb Road. Investigation by deputies revealed that a southbound vehicle driven by Jason Bauser, 36 of Sterling, left the west side of the roadway and overturned. Bauser was transported by ambulance for treatment of what appeared to be non life threatening injuries. Bauser was arrested for DUI and released on a I-bond. Bauser was also cited for improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol.
At approximately 12:25 a.m., Ogle County Deputies and Byron Fire/EMS responded to the 4800 block of E. IL Rte. 72 for a one vehicle roll over accident. After investigation, Tyler Jackson, 34 of Davis Junction, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Jackson was also cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Accident and released on an I-bond. Jackson was transported to a local hospital for injuries. He was issued a return court date.
Oct. 23
At approximately 12:38 a.m., Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop at N IL Rte 2 and Kathryn Road. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Seth E. Dascher, 28 of Rockford, for No Valid Driver’s License and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (Improper Container). Dascher was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. While at the jail, Dascher was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and cited for speeding.
At approximately 9:51 p.m., Ogle County Deputies along with Byron Fire and EMS personnel were dispatched to the 10800 block of N IL Rte 2 for a single vehicle rollover accident with injuries. After investigation, Deputies arrested Kelly L. Helfrich, 29 of Rochelle, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While License Suspended. Helfrich was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. Helfrich was additionally cited for Improper Traffic Lane Usage and Transport Open Container of Alcohol. Helfrich was released on a $3000.00/10% individual bond and provided a return court date.
