Ogle County Sheriff 3-8-21

At 3:35 p.m., Deputies responded to I39 MM 107 SB for a two-vehicle crash. After a short investigation it was determined that a 2014 Chrysler driven by Jazmin Gray, 24 of Jackson, Tenn., was traveling south on I39 and lost control on the snow-covered road. Gray then collided with a 2004 Dodge truck driven by Randall Evans 53 of Onalaska WI.  Tyija Walters, 32 of Joliet a passenger of Gray's was transported to Rochelle Hospital for minor injuries.  Gray was issued a citation for driving too fast for conditions. Deputies were assisted on scene by LSR Fire and the Illinois State Police.  

At 1:16 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of N. Walnut St. for a traffic violation. After an investigation, Shaun Woodard,53 of Byron was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Shaun was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Feb. 5

At 12:43 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff's Office, Forreston Fire Department, Forreston Ambulance, Polo Fire Department, and the Polo Ambulance responded to a four-car accident with unknown injuries on IL. RTE. 26 at Haldane Road. A white Ford Econoline van was northbound on RTE. 26 when it lost control on the snow-covered roadway. The Ford Econoline van crossed over the roadway striking a white Chevrolet Malibu head on that was southbound on RTE 26.  A black Jeep Patriot and silver Toyota Camry were southbound on RTE. 26 following the white Chevrolet Malibu. The Jeep turned into the west side ditch to avoid hitting the Malibu and Econoline van. The Camry turned towards the west side ditch striking the Jeep after experiencing white out conditions. The driver of the Econoline van Eddie J. Mathews, 62 of Oregon, Wis., refused medical treatment. The driver of the Malibu Micah D. Coffman, 21 of Sycamore, refused medical treatment. The driver of the Jeep Elizabeth M. Strock, 22 of Sterling, refused medical treatment, and the driver of the Toyota Seth M. Nelson, 19 of Forreston, also refused medical treatment. The accident remains under investigation.

Feb. 3

At 12:46 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 3000 block of E. IL Rt. 64 for a vehicle in the ditch. After an investigation, Jake R. Petersen-Rysavy, 24, of Rochelle was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Jake was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

Feb. 2

At approximately 9 p.m., Deputies responded to the 300 block of Errett Road in Hillcrest for the report of a domestic disturbance.  Upon completing an investigation Francisco Reyes, 48, of Hillcrest was placed under arrest for Aggravated DUI, Driving While License Revoked, and Domestic Battery.  Reyes was also cited for No Proof of Insurance.  Reyes was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held awaiting a court appearance.

Feb. 1

At 10:48 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident in the 17,000 of E. Ritchie Road. After an investigation, Deputies cited a 16-year-old juvenile male for driving without a license. The male was not injured due to the accident. The male was given an I-bond for his citation. 

Jan. 30

At approximately 4 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an address in Stillman Valley in reference to a disturbance. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Raul Amador Jr., 32 of Rockford, for Criminal Damage to Property. Amador Jr. was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released to correctional staff and held in lieu of bond.

Jan. 29

At approximately 11:03 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident with suspected injuries in the 11000 block of N. IL Rte 2. After investigation, Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies learned Angie Forgione, 42 of Crystal Lake, was traveling southbound on N IL Rte 2 and swerved to avoid a deer. Forgione lost control of her vehicle, traveling into the east side ditch where she overturned. Forgione was transported to a nearby hospital for her injuries by Byron EMS. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were assisted on scene by Byron Fire and Ambulance personnel. 

Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Antonio Escatel, 44 of Mendota, for Domestic Battery. Escatel was released on a $3,000/10% bond and will appear in court on 02-26-21 at 9 a.m.

Jan. 27

At 9:27 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I39 at Twombly Road for a traffic offense. After a short investigation Deputies arrested Mario Galeas-Flores, 30 of Cleveland, Texas for No Valid driver's License. Mario was released on scene with a return court date of 2-10-21 at 9 a.m.
