April 30

The following people were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:

Steven Brothers, 35 of Plymouth, Indiana, for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Brothers posted the $10,000/10 percent bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Brothers was given a return court date of 05/17/19 at 9 a.m.

Namiko Sheely, 47 of Polo, for Failure to Appear. Sheely posted the full cash bond of $452.71 and was released from the Ogle County Jail with no further court date.

April 29

The following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County Warrants:

Joseph Bull, 59 of Rock Falls, for Failure to Appear. Bull has a full cash bond of $636 and will appear in court on 04/30/19 at 1 p.m.

Frank Sherwood, 75 of Rochelle, for Disorderly Conduct. Sherwood has a bond of $5,000/10 percent and will appear in court on 04/30/19 at 1 p.m.

Timothy Mccullough, 26 of Dixon, for Failure to Appear. Mccullough has a full cash bond of $717 and will appear in court on 04/30/19 at 1 p.m.

April 28

At approximately 4:40 p.m., deputies along with Dixon Rural Fire/EMS responded to a motorcycle crash with injuries in the 800 block of W. Flagg Rd. After an investigation was conducted, it was learned that Andrew McCray, 66 of Chana, and Michael McCray, 27 of Ashton were traveling eastbound on Flagg Road operating separate motorcycles when Andrew lost control and crashed in the south ditch. Andrew received multiple injuries due to the crash and was transported to KSB Hospital. Andrew was charged with D.U.I and received addition citations for Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed and Driving on the Shoulder. Due to Andrew's injuries he was issued an I-bond with a future court date. Michael was also charged with D.U.I and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

April 26

At 2:52 p.m. the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Byron Police Department, Byron Fire Department, Byron Ambulance, and the Oregon Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries in the 7,000 block N. Rt. 2.  A silver Chevrolet 3500 truck was south bound on Rt. 2 when a grey Chevrolet 1500 travelling north bound crossed over into the south bound lane. The Chevrolet 3500 drove onto the shoulder attempting to avoid the Chevrolet 1500 when the two trucks struck head on. Both trucks slid over into the north bound lane coming to a stop. The driver of the Chevrolet 1500, Jon R. Stanley, 57, of Dixon was extricated from his truck by the Byron Fire Department and then flown to St. Anthony’s Hopsital by Life Flight helicopter with multiple injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet 3500 Howard C. Barh Jr., 64, of Galena was transported to Swedish American Hospital by the Oregon Ambulance with minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

The following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:
Michael Sharpe, 45, of Chicago for Driving While License Suspended. Sharpe had a bond of $3,000 /10 percent, and Sharpe was able to post bond. Sharpe was released from the Ogle County Jail and will return to court on 05/24/19.

Alexandra Schaefer, 27, of Rochelle for Motion to Increase bond. Schaefer has a bond of $10,000/10 percent. Schaefer did not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Schaefer will return to court on 04/29/19 at 9 am.

April 25

At approximately 12:10 a.m., Deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover accident in the 14500 block of West Milledgeville Rd. After an investigation into the accident, Deputies arrested Samantha Brown, 30 of Polo, for Driving While License Suspended. Brown was also cited for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and Improper Lane Usage. Brown refused medical attention and was transpoprted to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

April 24

Jacob Turner, 40 of Dixon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Petition to Revoke for Domestic Battery. Turner posted the $10,000/10 percent bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Turner will appear in court on 05/17/19 at 9 a.m.

At 7:56 p.m., Ogle County Deputies responded to a one vehicle roll-over accident. After a short investigation it was learned that a 2005 Honda Civic driven by Magdalena De La Cruz- Herrera,  36 of Kingston, IL., was eastbound on IL 38 when she lost control as she attempted to pass other vehicles and entered the north ditch, causing the Honda to roll several times. De La Cruz- Herrera was transported to RCH by Rochelle Fire for minor injuries. She also received citations for No Insurance and Failure to Reduce Speed. Deputies were assisted at the scene by AC Towing and Ogle/Lee Fire and Rochelle Fire. The accident remains under investigation.

At 11:35 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of S. IL Rt. 26 for a speeding violation. After an investigation, the driver, Jared S. Mon, 18 of Dixon, was arrested for No Valid Driver's License, Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor, and Zero Tolerance. A passenger in the vehicle, Devin Fry, 19 of Dixon, was arrested for Consumption of Alcohol as a Minor and released on an I-Bond. Mon was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

April 23

At 5 a.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Morris Police Department, Polo Police Department, Polo Fire Department and Polo Ambulance responded to a one-vehicle accident in front of 77 N. Lowell Park Road. A red Chevrolet 1500 truck driven by Jacob R. Morgan, 37, of Dixon, had been southbound on Lowell Park Road. The truck left the roadway striking a guard rail causing the truck to catch on fire. After the fire was extinguished Morgan was located inside the truck. The ogle county coroner’s office transported Morgan to the Ogle County Coroner’s Office. the accident remains under investigation.

April 22

The following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:

Kenneth Johnson, 47 of Rockford, for Failure to Appear. Johnson has a full cash bond of $459 and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Johnson will appear in court on 04/23/19 at 1 p.m.

Amber Keener, 34 of Dixon, for Failure to Appear. Keener has a full cash bond of $3,253 and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Keener will appear in court on 04/23/19 at 1 p.m.

April 21

The following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County warrants:

Daniel M. Diehl, 23 of Polo, for Failure to Appear. Diehl has a full cash bond of $451 and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Diehl will appear in court on 04/22/19 at 1 p.m.

Enedino Chavez, 40 of Sterling, for Failure to Appear. Chavez has a full cash bond of $1,346 and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Chavez will appear in court on 04/22/19 at 9 a.m.

At approximately 5 p.m., Deputies arrested Daniel Diehl, 23 of Polo, for an outstanding Ogle County warrant. Diehl was subsequently charged with Bringing Contraband into a Penal Institution. Diehl was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

April 20

At approximately 10:45 p.m., Deputies responded to a report of a battery which had occurred near the intersection of Chana Rd. and Center St. Two injured males were located near the intersection and they were provided medical attention by Oregon EMS. It was learned that the offenders had left the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. At approximately 11:35 p.m. Deputies located the offenders' vehicle as it traveled southbound on Chana Rd. and turned onto Grist Mill Rd. and a traffic stop was performed. After further investigation Amber Koeller, 26 of Chana, was taken into custody for Obstructing a Peace Officer and 2 counts of Battery. Also taken into custody was Steven Dodson, 41 of Chana. Dodson was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and 2 counts of Battery. Deputies later located Patrick Christenson, 27 of Chana, and he was charged with 2 counts of Battery. Also arrested was Stephanie Mcglinn, 27 of Byron, for 2 counts of Battery. All offenders were held at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.

Justin D.C. Cockrell, 21 of Rochelle, was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County warrant for Driving While License Revoked. Cockrell posted the $5,000/10 percent bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Cockrell will appear in court on 05/17/19 at 9 a.m.

April 19

At approximately 5:31 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a Domestic Problem at 203 Bridlewood Circle.  After investigation, Deputies placed John Larsen, 72 of Dixon under arrest for Domestic Battery. Larsen was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held with No Bond.
