Aug. 6

At approximately 10:14 p.m., Ogle County Deputies along with Lynn Scott Rock EMS personnel responded to the 14000 block of E. IL Rte 72, for a one vehicle accident with suspected minor injuries. After investigation, it was determined that Adam Moschel, 55 of Monroe Center, was traveling westbound on E. IL Rte 72. Moschel then entered the north ditch, at which time he struck a telephone pole. Moschel fled the scene but was located shortly by the Ogle County K9 Unit and transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for minor injuries from the accident. Moschel was issued citations for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Open Container/Alcohol, Failure to Give Notice of an Accident, Operate an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Improper Lane Usage. Moschel received an I bond and was left in the care of Rochelle Community Hospital personnel.

Aug. 5

Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Denny Dal Santo, 55 of Rockford Il. for driving with no valid driver's license. Dal Santo was arrested by Deputies on I-39 near Monroe Center after being stopped for speeding. Dal Santo was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Correctional Facility.

Aug. 2

At approximately 9:46 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 600 block of East Washington St. in Oregon.  After further investigation Melissa Burns, 39 of Polo, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Revoked.  Burns was also cited for Loud Exhaust and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Burns was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

July 31

At 1:10 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to Lanark Rd and Il Rte 26 for a male subject that was in the roadway sleeping and possibly intoxicated in his vehicle. After further investigation, Michael Frey, 56 of Polo, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Revoked, Driving under the influence of alcohol, and illegal transportation of alcohol. It was later learned that Frey was also involved in a property damage accident at Springdale Rd and IL Rte 26. He was also cited for leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Frey was additionally charged with Felony Aggravated Driving under the Influence. Frey was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where he is being held pending a court appearance in front of a judge. 

July 30

The Ogle County Sheriff's Office Deputies arrested Daliyah Jones, 19 of Rockford for driving without a license. Jones was arrested by Deputies on Rte. 64 near Woodlawn Road after being stopped for speeding. Jones was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Correctional facility.

July 29

At approximately 4:50 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a vehicle on Illinois Route 2 north of Oregon for a traffic violation.  Pursuant to the stop, Joseph Lones, 34, of Loves Park was arrested for No Valid Drivers License and not wearing a Seat Belt.  Lones was confined at the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies stopped a vehicle on Illinois Route 2 north of Oregon for speeding.  Pursuant to the stop, Barbara A Smith, 32, of Rockford was cited for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis as a Driver and Speeding.  A passenger in the vehicle, Joshua D Smith, 35, of Rockford was cited for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis as a Passenger.  Both individuals were released from the scene on an I-bond with a court appearance at a later date.

July 28

At approximately 2:26 a.m., Ogle County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 39 at mile marker 109 southbound.  After investigation, Deputies arrested Dayton Nielson (driver),  23 of Fairmont, Minnesota, for an active nationwide Minnesota state arrest warrant for Parole Violation. Deputies also arrested the passenger, Shawn Gaston, 31 of Peru, Illinois, for Possession of Methamphetamines and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis/Passenger (Improper Container). Nielson and Gaston were transported to the Ogle County Jail where both are held with no bond. Nielson was also cited for Speeding 93 mph in a 70 mph speed zone.   

At 5:35 a.m., Deputies  responded to a one vehicle rollover accident in the 5000 block of S. Freeport Road.  After an investigation, Deputies learned the driver, Chad Oldham, 32 of Milledgeville was traveling southbound on Freeport Road where he lost control of his 2013 Buick LaCrosse and entered the eastbound ditch where his vehicle rolled over. Oldham was transported to KSB hospital by Polo Ambulance for minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation.

July 27

The Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Gonzalo Herrera, 25 of Rockford. for driving while license suspended. Herrera was arrested by Deputies on I-39 near Rte 64 after being stopped for speeding. Herera was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Correctional Center.

July 25

At approximately 10:56 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Hitt St and Illinois Rt 64 in Mount Morris.  After further investigation Seth Rudecki, 19 of Stillman Valley, was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 4 Felony) and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis/Improper Container.  Rudecki was also cited for Speeding and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Rudecki was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he is being held pending an appearance before a judge.

At 1:34 p.m., The Ogle County Sheriffs Dept investigated an accident on I39 northbound at the 107.5 mile marker.  Brandy Carlson, 42, of Knoxville, Il, struck the rear of a car driven by Richard Broek, age 73, from Lake Orion, MI, in the rear.  Broek's vehicle then spun out of control and struck the overpass embankment of Lindenwood Rd that crosses I39 at that location.  Broek and his wife Judith Broek, 71, were transported to Swedish American Hospital by Lynn Scott Rock EMS for minor injuries.  Carlson was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and given a court date to appear.

July 24

At 8:13 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of IL Route 64 and S. Rocky Hollow Road for a driving complaint. The vehicle was eventually located in the 3900 block of W. IL Route 64 in rural Mt. Morris and a traffic stop was initiated. Darren M. Findrick (47) of Mt. Morris, IL was placed under arrest for Possession of Controlled Substance (Heroin) Class 1 Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance (Cocaine) Class 1 Felony, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis/Driver. Findrick was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending an appearance in front of a judge. Deputies were assisted by the Mount Morris Police Department.

At approximately 10:35 a.m., Deputies were advised of a driving complaint traveling southbound in the 1,000 block S. IL Rte. 2.  A short time later, Deputies were updated with another driving complaint on the same vehicle traveling back northbound on IL Rte. 2.  At approximately 10:58 a.m., Deputies located the vehicle and driver in the 7,000 Block of N. Alpine Drive.  After investigation Deputies placed Angela Duke, 52 of Byron under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Duke was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

July 4

In the early morning hours, Deputies were advised of a possible Violation of Order of Protection. After a brief investigation, Larry Boes, 74 of Byron, was found to be in violation of an active Order of Protection. On 7/7/2021, Deputies located Boes. Boes was placed under arrest for Violation of Order of Protection and was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was later released on a Recognizance bond.
