July 29
At approximately 6:09 a.m. Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 7,000 Block of N. Kishwaukee Road in reference to a suspicious vehicle. After investigation, Deputies located the vehicle in the 7,000 block of N. Winding Oak Lane. The driver was identified as Dustin Smith, 40 of Rockford. Smith was issued citations for Driving While License Suspended and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle. Smith was released on an I-Bond to appear in court at a later date.
July 25
At approximately 5:57 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 6000 block of North Freeport Rd. After further investigation Kyle Schultz, 28 of Rock Falls, was placed under arrest for No Valid Drivers License. Schultz was released on an Individual Bond with a future court appearance.
At approximately 12:10 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on I-39 at Mile Marker 111. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested Lorenzo Jones, 35 of Rockford, for Driving While License Suspended. Jones was also issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage. Jones was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
At about 4:49 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-88 at mile marker 75. After a short investigation Ogle County Sheriff Deputies arrested Maurice Hart, 25, of Chicago for Driving While License Suspended. Hart will appear in court on 08-21-20 at 9:00 a.m.
At 7:46 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop on IL Rte 64 at Meridian road. After a short investigation Ogle County Sheriff Deputies arrested Travis Mullen, 35, of Carol Stream for Driving While License Suspended, Possession of Drug Equipment, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Cannabis Unlawful Container. Mullen was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
July 24
At 6:28 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-39 at mile marker 96. After a short investigation Ogle County Sheriff Deputies arrested Jacob Freeze, 29, of Farmersburg, Ind., for Driving While License Suspended. Freeze will appear in court on 09-03-20 at 9:00 a.m.
At 2:06 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of N IL Rte 2. After a short investigation Ogle County Sheriff Deputies arrested Melisa Carreno, 34, of Leaf River for Driving While License Suspended. Carreno will appear in court on 08-21-20 at 9 a.m.
At 4:09 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-88 at mile marker 76. After a short investigation Ogle County Sheriff Deputies arrested Elivis Perry, 32 of Chicago for Driving While License Suspended. Perry will appear in court on 08-21-20 at 9 a.m.
At 10:35 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-39 at mile marker 102. After a short investigation Ogle County Sheriff Deputies arrested Mario Smith, 37, of Madison, Wis., for Driving While License Suspended. Smith will appear in court on 08-21-20 at 9:00 a.m.
At 11:51 p.m. Ogle County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop on I-39 at Rte 38. After a short investigation Ogle County Sheriff Deputies arrested Cristopher Moscoso, 22, of Milwaukee, Wis., for No Valid Driver's License. Moscoso will appear in court on 08/21/2020 at 9:00 a.m.
At approximately 8:20 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Third Street in Leaf River. After further investigation Deputies Arrested Ronald Reittinger, 37 of Leaf River, for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While License Suspended. Reittinger was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
July 23
The following people were arrested on Ogle County Outstanding Arrest Warrants.
Cody Ward, 31, of Davis Junction, for 2 Retail Theft warrants. Ward has a bond of 10,000 (10%) for each warrant. Ward will appear in court on 07/24/20 at 1 p.m.
Richard Huereca, 47, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Huereca has a bond of $1,293. Huereca will appear in court on 07/24/20 at 1 p.m.
July 22
At approximately 2:48 p.m., Ogle County deputies, along with the Byron Police department, Byron Fire department and Stillman Valley Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection East Illinois Route 72 and Marrill Road. After an investigation it was learned that both vehicles were traveling west bound on Illinois Route 72. While the motorcycle was coming to a stop, it was rear ended by a sliver Acura. An adult female and a minor child were transported to Swedish American for non-life threating injuries. Gracey Lovgren, 19 of Stillman Valley, was cited for following to closely.
At approximately 11 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an accident in the 7,400 block of N. Freeport Road. It was reported to Ogle County that a pipe went through the windshield of a motor vehicle at that location. After an investigation it was determined that a Chevrolet 2500 utility truck, being driven by Dagoberto Rodriguez, of Rockford, was southbound on Freeport road with a 20-foot section of plastic culvert on the rack attached to the top of his truck. A Commonwealth Edison truck, being driven by Albert Stobbe, of Marengo, was northbound. The culvert came off of Rodriguez's vehicle and hit the Com-Ed vehicle shattering the windshield. Stobbe was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained from the shattered windshield. Rodriguez was issued a citation for an unsecured load.
July 21
At approximately 12:19 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in rural Stillman Valley for the report of a domestic disturbance. The offender fled from the scene; but was located by Sheriff’s Deputies approximately 10 minutes later. Pursuant to the investigation, Rogelio Ibarra Jr, 30 of Rockford was charged with the following: Aggravated Domestic Battery, Unlawful Restraint, Theft over $500, Interference with the reporting of Domestic Violence, Resisting Arrest and Improper Container of Cannabis as a Driver. Ibarra was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
July 20
Ogle County Sheriff Deputies arrested Cornelious Brown, 23, of Springfield for Driving While License Revoked. Brown was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff Deputies on I-39 after being stopped for speeding. Brown was held in lieu of bond at the Ogle County Jail.
July 19
Ogle County Sheriff Deputies arrested Alexander Thornton, 27, of Aurora for Driving While License Suspended. Thornton was arrested by Ogle County Sheriff Deputies on I-39 after being stopped for speeding. Thornton was released on an I-Bond.
July 18
At approximately 7:45 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 12000 block of W Haldane Rd. After investigation, Deputies arrested Christopher Prusia, 33 of Forreston, for Driving While License Suspended. Prusia was also issued a citation for moving violation. Prusia was released on an I-bond from the scene with a return court date later this year.
At approximately 11:57 a.m., Ogle County Deputies along with the Oregon Fire and EMS responded to a single vehicle accident in the 3000 blk of South Daysville Road. The vehicle, a 2018 Maroon Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on Daysville road when the vehicle traveled off of the roadway. The vehicle then overturned, coming to rest in a small grove of trees. The driver of the vehicle, James Kirchner, 72, of Oregon, passed away from the result of the crash.
