Park District partners with local artist for DIY painting classes

OREGON – Artist Amy Fenwick, offers fun canvas painting classes through the Oregon Park District.

These classes are held at Cork & Tap in Oregon giving participants a chance to enjoy an evening out, and sip on their favorite beverage. Painting on canvas is fun for all ages and for many it fulfills their creative side and for some it is great therapy.

On April 15, Fenwick will be teaching a Paint and Sip class where participants will paint a Swirly Tree on a 12” x 12” canvas.  The registration deadline for the Swirly Tree Canvas class is April 8.

The beauty of the DIY kits is the ability to paint your project when your schedule allows. Kits are recommended for children 5 years and up and for adults who want to learn the basics of painting on canvas. No experience required. The pattern is already drawn on the canvas for you.

If you want to give painting a try, choose between two DIY kits available March 23 for pick up. Choose between a cute cactus (on 11” x 14” canvas) or mixed image of the sun, moon and stars (on 12” x 12” canvas).  If you can’t choose between the two, you are welcome to register for both kits.

Registration deadline is March 16. Fee is $17/Resident or $20/Non-Resident. For an additional $5 three paint brushes can be purchased. Register online at www.oregonpark.org or by call the Oregon Park District at 815-732-3101. Watch for in-person classes coming soon.
