At approximately 10:12 p.m., Polo Police Officers observed a dark gray colored vehicle traveling south bound, with no lights on when required, in the 900 block of South Division Avenue. The vehicle continued south bound into the 3000 block of Illinois South Route 26, where it merged into the north bound lane without signaling. The vehicle continued south bound in the north bound lane before entering a field east of Illinois Route 26. The vehicle then reentered the roadway, crossing over both north and south bound lanes, before entering the west side ditch where the vehicle came to a stop, just north of Henry Rd.
The male driver was identified as Harrison Sarver Jakobs, 23, of Milledgeville. Jakobs was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Drugs, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Operation of an Uninsured vehicle, Driving Without lights when Required, Driving on Opposite Direction, Failure to Signal When Required and Improper Lane Usage. Further charges are pending. Jakobs was given an I-Bond and released to KSB hospital staff for treatment.
