DIXON – Rebecca D. Honea-Pate, age 48, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born June 2, 1975 in Rochelle, IL the daughter to Steven Burdette and Mary Meador.  Rebecca attended Oregon School District.  She worked as a CNA for private home health care and prior to that worked at Quality Metal Finishing in Byron, IL. Rebecca loved being with her family and friends. She loved cooking for her family and going shopping, ride in the side-by-side with her fiancé’ Chad, attend her step son’s wrestling events, and attend her daughter Brynlie’s tumbling and dance recitals.  Rebecca was predeceased by her brother Paul Burdette, maternal grandfather Lloyd Mason, paternal grandmother Audrey Burdette, maternal great grandmother Frances Jones, and uncle Mike Mason.  She is survived by her mother Mary Nelson (Ed Powless) of Mt. Morris, father Steven (Mary Ann) Burdette of Oregon, fiancé Chad Pate of Dixon, son Bryce Honea of Fort Stewart, Georgia, daughter Brynlie Pate Dixon, step-son Hunter Pate of Dixon, sister Rachel Burdette of Morrison, maternal grandmother Ellen Mason of Oregon, mother-in-love Rosalind Pate of Dixon, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th Steet in Oregon, IL with the Pastor Rosa Lee of the Grace United Methodist Church in Dixon officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the funeral Home.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Oregon.  A memorial fund is established in Rebecca’s name and may be directed to her family.
