Stillman Valley High School’s Ace's Academic Challenge Team recently qualified for State by placing 2nd at Sectionals.

"This is only the second time our team has qualified for state in the 15 years that I have been the advisor,” said Advisor Kathy McCarey. “It is quite an accomplishment. "

Some special highlights and our individual state qualifiers:

Philip Broski - 1st in Chemistry and 1st in Math

Richie Sutliff - 2nd in Chemistry and 3rd in English

Nick Youman - 3rd in Chemistry

Aidan Taylor - 3rd in Physics (tie)

Luna Taylor - 3rd in Physics (tie)

"It's nice to have academic competitions like this back so the kids can showcase where they excel,” said SVHS Athletic Director Heather Alderks. “Also, what is noteworthy is our Chemistry teacher, Kathy McCarey, who currently teaches the kids who placed first through ninth in AP Chemistry. What an achievement!"
