MOUNT MORRIS – The Mount Morris Jamboree is pleased to announce the highly anticipated return of Chicago's Oldie's Rock and Roll Band, The StingRays, to our band shell for a free two-hour concert on July 5 from 7-9 p.m., continuing our Let Freedom Ring Fourth of July festival.

Everyone fortunate enough to see previous shows by this exciting and engaging act will fondly remember the dance contests, trivia and dynamic stage presence of this wonderful band and will attest to the 'do not miss' grade level of their show.

The StingRays play the greatest music ever written and play it with the energy, passion and authenticity of the artists whose music they love. Excellent musicians, everyone loves the StingRays Rock & Roll. Their music, great rapport with audiences, their look and the famous StingRay moves have made them repeated favorites at festivals, concert series, casinos, clubs, corporate events and parties throughout the Midwest. The StingRays love interacting with audiences through trivia, dance contests and even joining people in the audience. The StingRays always get the crowd dancing and singing to songs from Rockabilly – tons of sixties – to the 70's. They've opened for some of the greatest names in Rock & Roll like Danny & the Juniors, the Ides of March, the Grass Roots, the Buckinghams, Joey Dee and the Starliters, Mitch Ryder, the Guess Who, Sonny Geraci and the Outsiders and Dion.

The Ogle County Beef Producers will be serving ribeye steak sandwiches, hamburgers, cheeseburgers and quarter pound all beef hot dogs starting at 5 p.m. Many other food and drink vendors will be on site as well, celebrating the ongoing Let Freedom Ring Festival.

It's opening night of the Fine Art Show at the Encore Art Gallery next door on the first floor of Old Sandstone featuring works from many local Artists on the theme 'The Road Not Taken', open from 6-9 p.m.

On the North end of the Campus, the Jonas Fultz Memorial Car Show and Cruise gets underway at 5, with registration beginning at 4.

With so much going on, be sure to come uptown early to visit the Mount Morris Community Farmers Market, open from 4-7 p.m. every Friday through October, located at the corner of Rt. 64 and Wesley Ave. Please bring a blanket or chair, or enjoy the new benches and join the fun on our beautiful, historic campus in the center of Mount Morris, two blocks south of Rt. 64 on Wesley Avenue and enjoy a free live rock and roll show.

In the event of rain, the whole show moves to the Moose Lodge at 101 Moose Drive, at the same times.
