James ‘Jim’ W. Davis

OREGON — James “Jim” W. Davis, 82, lifetime Oregon resident passed away at KSB Hospital in Dixon, IL, on Friday, April 12, 2024. He was born on October 30, 1941, in Rockford, IL, the son of Richard C. & Helen (Bearman) Davis.  He graduated Oregon High School in 1959.  Two years later he married the love of his life Kaye White on June 2, 1961, and spent many happy years together.  For several years he worked in the trucking industry for A&B Freight of Rockford.  He even owned and operated his own trucking company throughout the 1970s.  He loved the simple things in life like fishing, boating, collecting model, and in his younger years going bowling.  He also had a deep love for antique cars and tractors, he would spend a lot of time tinkering in the garage on them.  His one true love however was his family.  He would always make sure to spend time with them, especially the light of his life, his grandchildren.

Jim is survived and missed dearly by his loving wife Kaye of Oregon, IL; children, Connie Davis and Rick Davis both of Oregon, IL; sister Kristine (John) Fordham of Pekin, IL; grandchildren, Trenton, Taylor, Dylan, David (Sarah) Kevorkian; and 2 great-grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughters Sandra Jean & Wendy Jo, and sister Pat.

A visitation will be held in his honor on Thursday, April 18, 2024 beginning at 5:00 pm and going until 7:00 pm at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home of Oregon, IL.  Jim will be laid to rest at Fairmont Cemetery in Polo, IL.  Memorial donations are established in his name and may be directed to the family.  To leave an online condolence or plant a tree in his memory please visit www.farrellhollandgale.com
