Exelon makes local donations

Employees with the Exelon Byron Nuclear Station presented donations to several organizations throughout Ogle County as part of their employee giving campaign.

Exelon Generation’s Byron Station donates about $250,000 annually to various charities through its employee giving campaign and other donations from its outreach fund. On top of that, the nuclear plant employees hold numerous fundraisers and collections for non-profits that are specific to Ogle County.

This year, that specific fundraising ledger topped nearly $20,000 and plant employees chose a wide range of charities in the county to each receive $1,500 from these funds. Receiving donations were:  CASA 15th Judicial Circuit Ogle/Lee, Focus House, Habitat for Humanity (Byron), HOPE of Ogle County, Hub City Senior Center, Mt. Morris Senior Citizen Council, Pinecrest Community, Rochelle Christian Food Pantry, Rock River Center, Serenity Hospice and Home, Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center and Village of Progress.

Byron Generating Station employees live in the communities surrounding the nuclear plant and pride themselves on error-free operational performance, volunteerism and charitable contributions.
