Folk to chair state association

OREGON – The Illinois Park & Recreation Association (IPRA) has elected Erin Folk, executive director of the Oregon Park District, as its 2019 Chair-Elect.

She will take office on Jan. 25, 2019 at the IPRA Annual Business Meeting and will become IPRA’s Chair in January of 2020.

Erin entered the field in 2002 after completing her undergraduate degree in Recreation Administration at Eastern Illinois University. She joined the Lombard Park District, and been with the Oregon Park District since 2006. She has been an IPRA member since 2002, a member of the Illinois Park and Recreation Foundation Board in 2016, and IPRA North West Region Representative in 2017 and 2018. Erin is also a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP).

“I am honored to have been selected as the 2019 Chair Elect and 2020 Chair and look forward to working with the IPRA staff and board as we continue to provide positive experiences for our members,” Folk said.
“We are thrilled that Erin is going to be our Chair Elect in 2019 and our Chair in 2020,” said Debbie Trueblood, IPRA executive director. “Erin will be among an elite few who have been IPRA Board Chairs from the North West Region of Illinois. Erin has done terrific work at the Oregon Park District and we are confident she will do just as well as our statewide leader.”
