Halloween hijinks at Chana Education Center

Posted

CHANA – Chana Education Center students and staff enjoyed some special Halloween activities and hijinks on Oct. 31.

Students researched information on the history of the tradition of Jack-o-lanterns and then carved pumpkins themselves. Homeroom teams designed and built one-of-a-kind scarecrow structures. The older students helped set up a trick-or-treating experience for the younger students.  Staff even surprised students with a recreation of a Nintendo Mario Kart race with staff dressed as each game character.

Building a sense of community is a pillar of the Chana program. Developing opportunities for students to positively create shared experiences and memories is an essential aspect of fostering community.
