Miles in Memory run set for July 21

BYRON – The Miles in Memory (formerly the Rick Hahn Memorial Run) is set to take place on Saturday, July 21 at the Byron Forest Preserve in Byron.

Runners and walkers will enjoy the moderately challenging 5K course.

Walkers/Runners are encouraged to walk/run Miles in Memory in honor of a loved one. Stickers will be available to write the name(s) of your loved one to be worn during the event. All proceeds for the Miles in Memory Run/Walk benefit Serenity Hospice and Home which is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the terminally ill and their families in Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago counties.

The course is certified by USA Track & Field - # IL14077JW. Timing results will be handled by RealTiming Inc, using chip-timing technology. This allows finishers to receive an accurate place and time results within minutes of crossing the finish line. T-shirts are given to all participants registered by July 11 and medals are awarded to the top finishers in each age group.

Registration and check-in begin at 6:45 a.m. at the Byron Forest Preserve, 7993 N. River Road, Byron, and race time is at 8 a.m. Pre-registered participant fee is $25 and $30 the day of the event.
