Museum caps year with Christmas Party

Posted

DAVIS JUNCTION – The Davis Junction Museum finished off the year with a wonderful Christmas Party at the museum.

It also also took First Place at the Christmas Tree Festival at the Byron Museum. The museum was first in the handmade ornaments with our subject "Trains." Thank you to the volunteers that helped decide and put together the tree.

The museum will be closed for the month of January, opening again starting Feb. 1 from 10 a.m.-noon. Every week the museum is open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-noon except the third week being Wednesday from 2-7 p.m.

The third Wednesday of every month is the board meeting at 6 p.m. Every third Sunday of the month the museum is open from noon-4 p.m. This March there will be a program on the Underground Railroad by Daniel Wykes (educator). That presentation will be on March 20 at 1:30 p.m.

This New Year we hope to look to the younger generation for a presentation mixing new technology with history. The walkway design for the exterior side to the backyard of the museum will be looked at in the spring. As usual we will have our usual fundraisers, 50/50 raffle and Eickmans meat raffle.

If you care to volunteer or just come by and visit our museum, we would like to stop by at your convenience when we're open. For an appointment or questions please call Kim at 815-994-0803.
