April 7

At 12:42 a.m., following a traffic stop at Hitt and Nancy streets in Mt. Morris, Deputies arrested Joshua Mccaslin, 37 of Oregon, for No Valid Driver's License. Mccaslin was also issued citations for Speeding, No Insurance, Possession of Cannabis, and Possession of Drug Equipment. Mccaslin was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

At 2 a.m., Ogle County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the 12000 block of E Flagg Rd. for a car in the ditch. After an investigation, it was discovered the vehicle had driven into the corn field several hundred yards. The driver, Viviana Castillo, 24 of Cortland, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Castillo was transported to the Ogle County Jail where she was held in lieu of bond.

April 6

At 10:18 p.m., following a traffic stop in the 7000 block of Mt. Morris road, Deputies arrested Tyler Nichol, 20 of Lena, for Reckless Driving. Nichol also received citations for Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Equipment, Failure to Stop at an Intersection, Disobey Stop Sign and Unlawful Use of Electronic Device. Nichol was released on a I-Bond and will appear in court on 05/03/19 at 9 a.m.

April 5

At 9:23 p.m., following an investigation of suspicious activity at the Casey's General Store in Creston, Deputies arrested Lonita Stokes, 30 of Chicago, for Driving While License Suspended. Deputies also arrested Pierre Keith, 26 of Chicago, for a Valid Cook County arrest warrant. Both were transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.

The following people were arrested on outstanding Ogle County Warrants:

Eric Book, 26, for Failure to Register and and Failure to Report Change of Address. Book appeared in court and was given $3,000 recognizance bonds for both warrants and was released with a return court date of 04/17/19 at 10:30 a.m.

Ginger Greenfield, 40 of Oregon, for Harassment by Electronic Communications. Greenfield posted the $3,000/10 percent bond and was released with a return court date of 04/26/19 at 9 a.m.

Roman Arellano, 36 of Rockton, for Overweight on Axle/1st-3rd. Arellano posted the $875 full cash bond and was released with no further court dates.

April 4

The following people were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:

Dartayvious Sims, 23, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Sims had a bond of $3,000/10 percent. Sims did post the $3,000/10 percent bond and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Sims will return for court on 04/26/19 at 9 a.m.

Leslie Brashaw, 41, of Leaf River for Failure to Appear. Brashaw has a bond of $9475. Brashaw remains in the Ogle County jail and will go to court on 04/05/19 at 9 a.m.

Sheldon Wheaton, 38, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Wheaton has a bond of $6305.26. Wheaton remains in the Ogle County jail and will go to court on 04/05/19 at 1 p.m.

April 3

The following people were arrested for Ogle County Oustanding Warrants:

Ramiro Avila, 21, of Rochelle for Failure to Appear. Avila had a bond of $396 and Avila did post his bond/ Avila was released from the Ogle County Jail and will no have to return for court.

Kyle Lowe, 30, of Oregon for Failure to Appear. Lowe had a bond of $1,292.74. Lowe did not post bond and will return to court on 04/05/19 at 9 a.m. Lowe remains in the Ogle County jail.

Aaron Clark, 40, of Hinckley for Probation Violation and Failure to Appear. Hinckely had a bond of $3,000/10 percent and $1,177. Hinckley recieved a recog bond of $3000 for Probation Violation Warrant. Hinckley recieved a bond reduction for his Failure to Appear warrant. Hinckley's bond is $175 and he remains in the Ogle County Jail.

At 7:53 a.m., The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Leaf River Fire Department, and Leaf River Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle rollover accident in the 8000 block N. Pecatonica Road. A semi-tractor trailer combination was northbound on Pecatonica Road from Leaf River followed by a Buick Enclave. The semi-tractor trailer combination slowed to make a left turn into a parking lot when the Buick Enclave attempted to pass the semi-tractor trailer combination on the left. The semi-tractor trailer combination struck the Buick Enclave on the passenger side causing the Buick Enclave to roll over into the west side ditch and striking a utility pole. The Buick Enclave came to a stop on its side. The driver of the Buick Enclave, Diane Hemmersbach age 51 of Leaf River, was extricated from the vehicle by the Leaf River Fire Department. Hemmersbach refused medical attention and was released at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
