Shindig coming to Jamboree

Posted

MOUNT MORRIS – The Mount Morris Jamboree is pleased to welcome back the 60's tribute band, Shindig for their performance at our band shell on July 6, starting at 7 pm.
Shindig presents a tribute to the 60's and always delivers a trip back to the greatest and most diverse decade of Rock and Roll music. Covering over 90 different bands from that period of time where music told the story of an entire generation – early 60's, British Invasion, Psychedelic, pop, girl groups and Woodstock are all part of the show.

Everyone fortunate to see their performance here last year will readily attest to the excitement this band bring to the stage.

Starting at 6 p.m. the Ogle County Pork Producers will be serving their delicious, grilled, boneless pork chop sandwiches, chips and lemonade.

The Encore! Art Gallery will be open in Old Sandstone, just adjacent to the shell, that evening from 6-9:30 p.m. as well, featuring the Regional Artist Showcase, displaying a variety of works by local Artists. Several other food and craft vendors will likely be on site as well, including Jen's Artisan Breads, featuring many different varieties of scrumptious fresh baked bread and Pecatonica River Honey, with raw, natural, locally sourced honey. Barker Brew will likely be there to serve a variety of iced coffees as well. The Let Freedom Jonas Fultz memorial Car Cruise will also be happening from 4-8 p.m. on Wesley Ave. and Main St. that night, so plan to park in one of the three large parking lots uptown.

The whole evening kicks off with the Mount Morris Community Farmer's Market, located at the corner of Rt. 64 and Wesley Ave. from 4 -7 p.m. every Friday through October. It's going to be a big party uptown that night, so come join the fun on our beautiful, historic campus in the center of Mount Morris, two blocks south of Rt. 64 on Wesley Ave.

Our rain location would be Pinecrest Grove Community Center, located eight blocks south of Rt. 64 on McKendrie St, at 500 Evergreen Dr.
