Summer Day Camps set at Lorado Taft

Lorado Taft will be offering four summer camp sessions.

Two sessions are for children ages 7-12 and occur July 6-10, and Aug. 3-7. The July session is a Zombie Survival Camp. We will build our own hideouts, learn how to survive in the wild, and play a zombie inspired tag game. We will become zombies ourselves and stumble through the woods looking for brains.

Our August session is a Water-themed Camp. Children will understand why water is so important, have a water play day, and learn about the Pacific garbage patch.

Camps will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m., with the exception of Friday, when we will end at 2 p.m. Families are invited to lunch and a presentation on Friday of each camp, during which the campers will show what they have been working on during their week at the camp.  Both camps are offered to children ages 7-12.

The fee for each camp is $115 for the first child and $90 for any subsequent children in the family.  Early drop off and late pick up will be available for an additional fee.

Our littles session for children ages 5-6 will be held June 15-19. This is our bird camp where campers will learn about birds, migration, and how to help birds in a hands-on way. The camp will start at noon and end at 4:30 p.m. Lunch and a snack will be provided. The fee for this camp will be $70.

This year we are adding a session for 13-17-year-olds who are interested in being a junior counselor!  They will attend a morning session to learn how to teach a game or do a craft and then will help the Lorado Taft staff in the afternoon with the little’s camp June 15-19. Camp will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. The fee for this camp is $115 for the first child and $90 for any subsequent children in the family. Breakfast and lunch are included and early drop off and late pick up will be available for an additional fee.
