MOUNT MORRIS – Put on your Blue Suede Shoes and Rock Around the Clock to your favorite Rock and Roll Oldies.

That'll be the Day that The Rockin' Fenderskirts come to town. Great Balls of Fire! There'll be A Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On. You'll dance, you'll sing, you'll laugh. You'll get All Shook Up. Who knows, you might even Twist and Shout.

Chicago land's good time classic oldies rock and roll band, The Rockin' Fenderskirts are bringing their brand of good time 50's and 60's Rock and Roll to the Mount Morris Jamboree on June 8 for a free two-hour concert starting at 7 p.m. This band has been satisfying audiences with their brand of electrifying Oldies for more than 30 years in the Northern Illinois region. With a few changes to the lineup over the years, the band now consists of Jim Matheson on guitar, David Shamrock plays guitar and sings, Rick Barr drives the beat on drums and Rocco Phipps digs good grooves on the stand-up bass.

The Leaf River Methodist Church will be serving their famous Italian Beef sandwiches, chips, drinks and desserts starting at 6 p.m. The Encore Old Sandstone Art Gallery next door will continue to show artwork from students in the Oregon/Mt. Morris School district, open from 6-9:30 p.m.

The whole evening kicks off with the Mount Morris Community Farmer's Market, located at the corner of Rt. 64 and Wesley Ave. from 4-7 p.m. every Friday through October. Come join the fun on our beautiful, historic campus in the center of Mount Morris, two blocks south of Rt. 64 on Wesley Avenue and be ready to dance the night away and have a rollicking good time.
