BYRON – Mr. Alfred (Al) Roberts, 92, of Bryon, joined his heavenly father on Dec.10, 2020. He passed away peacefully in Sebring, Fla., with his wife and a son by his side. He enjoyed wintering in Florida.
Alfred was born in 1928 in Winter, Wis., to Bert and Laura Roberts. Al had one sister, Betty Allen and two brothers, Dale and Vernon. Al married the love of his life Donna (Hook) Roberts on June 9, 1951 at the First Presbyterian Church in Winter, Wis. They enjoyed 69 wonderful years together and were blessed with four children, Cynthia, Roger, Timothy and Mark. As a family they enjoyed visiting and camping in most of the 48 states.
Al worked 37 years for ComEd and held various positions each with increasing responsibilities until his retirement from the Bryon nuclear power plant in 1984. Al was a merchant marine and sailed the great lakes.
In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by sons, Roger and Linda of Winter, Wis., Timothy and Kaye of North Prairie, Wis., and Mark and Kelly of Stillman Valley; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and his sister Betty Allen.
He was preceded in passing by his mother, father, two brothers and daughter.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements with Fountain Funeral Home, Avon Park.
