Byron Bank employees increase United Way donations

BYRON – Byron Bank employees recently presented the United Way of the Rock River Valley with donations toward the agency’s 2020 Annual Campaign.

Alan Jones of the United Way accepted the check. Corporate and employee donations raised $10,203 during the campaign. This was a 29 percent increase from last year. The bank had 100 percent participation of employees donating to the “Jeans Day” fundraiser.

“This generosity of our employees truly demonstrates the commitment to the communities we serve,” explained Brent Baker, Byron Bank President. “Knowing that the donations stay right here in our Ogle County neighborhoods helps us create opportunities for a better life for all.”

Over the last 12 years, Byron Bank employees have raised nearly $69,000 for the United Way. Non-profit Partner Agencies receive funding through United Way campaigns.

“With the help of workplace campaigns like Byron Bank’s the United Way of Rock River Valley is able to make a significant impact in every community,” said Alan Jones of the United Way. “From providing books for early education programs to helping aid families and adults, United Way of Rock River Valley and Byron Bank make a great partnership.” 

Through collaboration, programming and a tradition of leadership, United Way focuses on strengthening families, nurturing children and youth, promoting health and wellness and empowering neighborhoods and communities.
