STILLMAN VALLEY – Christopher Leslie Hillers, age 92, passed away at home on May 8, 2020. He was born in Stillman Valley on Dec. 1, 1927 the son of Behrens and Annie (Ennenga) Hillers.

He graduated from Stillman Valley High School class of 1945. He then joined the U.S. Army in 1946. He married Phyllis Stucker on April 8, 1949. Christopher worked as a farmer and a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways. He was a member of the Teamsters and the Foresters.  After his retirement; he enjoyed traveling with his wife especially to Hawaii. He loved puttering around and doing yard work. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt and spend time outside. He was a fan of boxing and professional wrestling and enjoyed watching both on tv. But, most of all he loved his family and enjoyed Saturday morning family breakfasts.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Phyllis of Stillman Valley; sons, Dale (Wendy) Hillers of Winnebago, Donn (Barb) Hillers of Rockford, and Doug Hillers of Stillman Valley; sister, Henrietta Day of Rockford; grandchildren, Tim (Melissa) Hillers of Portage, Wis., Tara Hillers of Winnebago, Blair (James) Lemmon of Avon Lake, Ohio, Zachary Hillers of Rockford, Geoffrey Hillers of Shelton, Wash., and  Garrett (Kayla) Hillers of Acton, Mass.; great grandsons, Ben and Gage; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings John, Herman, Henry, Tena, Vera, and Jennie.
