POLO – David A. Blough, 58, of Polo, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019, at MercyHealth Hospital in Rockford with family and friends by his side.
David was born March 26, 1961, in Oregon, the son of Dale and Aida (Dermenjian) Blough. A lifelong resident of Polo, David graduated from General Motors Institute with an engineering degree before changing careers to become an Illinois State Trooper. David went on to serve in the Illinois State Police in various roles for over 20 years, having retired in 2016. David loved his friends and family. He loved playing the piano and being a DJ at events, and he loved riding the backroads of Northern Illinois on his Harley.
Survivors include fiance’ Patha Brandon; sister Anne (Eric) Gaertner of Glen Ellyn; nephew Nathan Gaertner and niece Emily Gaertner.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life service was at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Polo Church of the Brethren, 401 S. Congress. Family received guests from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service, and also after the service.
