BYRON — David Eugene Porter unexpectedly passed away in his home on September 19, 2024 at the age of 70 in Byron, IL.
He was born to Max Sr. and Shirley Porter on July 19, 1954 in Bloomington, IL. David married the love of his life Christine Porter on December 12, 2012. David retired at the age of 62 from Lowes Distribution Center in Rockford, IL.
David is survived by his wife Christine Porter of Byron, IL., his brother Doug (Sandy) Porter of Towanda, IL, and his sisters Diane Porter of Bloomington, IL and Debbie (Robert) Fogal of Normal, IL. His sons Tom Porter and his son Austin of Clinton, IL, Derrick (Paula) Porter their children Kahlan, Vivyan, Wyatt, and Bradley and their grandchild Luna of Oregon, IL., Rob (Rachel) Porter and their children Tyler, Matthew, and Savannah of Weldon, IL, Josh Porter and his daughter Ashlyn of Bloomington, IL, Justin (Andrea) Porter and their children Keegan, Ellie, and Huxlee of Kansas City, KS. His sons Jamie (Karriane) McCarty and their children Britany, Lucas, Everly, and Hudson of Byron, IL and Josh (Amber) McCarty and their children Addison, Annalyse, Morgan, Griffin, and Knoxleigh of Sheridan, IL. His daughters Danay (John) Voiles and their children Grace, Ryker and Stella of Florida, and Chelsea O’Brien of Milwaukee, WI. His son Taylor (Cristina) O’Brien and their children Jaylee, Ashton, Brantley, Archer, Huxley, and Weslynn of Grand Ridge, IL. His daughter Mariesa O’Brien and her children Waylon and Colt of Byron, IL.
David is preceded in death by his parents Max Sr. and Shirley Porter, his Brother Max Porter Jr., his 2 nephews Jesse Porter and Shane Porter, and his grandson Caden Fritz.
There will be a Celebration of Life on November 16, 2024 from 2pm-5pm at the Prairieview Golf Course in the Pavillion in Byron IL.
