Joseph ‘Dirty’ Roth

BYRON – Joseph “Dirty” Roth, age 48, unexpectedly passed away on October 1, 2024. He was born in Elgin on November 20, 1975. He grew up in Gilberts, Illinois before moving to Hampshire where he enjoyed playing sports during his time attending Hampshire High School - which is also where he made many, many life long friends. Joe married the love of his life Amanda Chapman on April 5, 2003. Together they built a beautiful life and family. He was the life and soul of every party and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family every chance he could get. He was a man you could count on and always made time to help those in need. He was passionate about motorcycles and riding them out on the open road - especially when it came to leaving smiley face shaped burn outs. He was a member of ABATE and believed in bikers having all the rights and freedoms they deserve. He enjoyed music and could often be found playing on his guitar or attending concerts. Most of all he was a family man who cherished the time he spent with his wife, being a devoted girl dad to his four daughters, and spending time with his dogs. Joe is preceded in death by his father, William Nally, his grandparents, Walter Sr. and Dorothy Roth, step-father, Gary Greve, uncles, James Roth and William Roth, and brother-in-law, John Jamison. He is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife of 21 years, Amanda Roth of Byron; mother, Patricia Greve of Hampshire; daughters, Autumn (Matthew Ray) Roth of Poplar Bluff, MO, Kennedy (Jacob Harshman) Roth of Oregon, Josie Roth of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Bella Roth of Byron; granddaughter, Clementine Ray; sister-in-law, Jennifer Jamison of Byron; brother-in-law, William Nielson of Schaumburg; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends who were all special to him. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Byron. A funeral will follow beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Cortese officiating. Burial will be held at Byron Cemetery following the service.  The family would like to invite anyone who is able to ride their motorcycles to the services in honor of  "Dirty".  Memorials may be directed to the family. To leave an online condolence please visit www.farrellhollandgale.com
