OREGON – David G. Cline, age 65, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 after an extended illness. He was born Sept. 30, 1953 in Sterling, the son of Donald and Patricia (Burden) Cline.
Dave attended Oregon schools prior to moving to Mt. Morris his Junior and Senior year where he graduated in 1971. Dave was fondly known as the Bike Doctor within the biking community and also shared a love for guitars. Besides his great love for bikes and guitars, Dave was also a lifelong Pittsburg Pirates and Green Bay Packers fan. He previously worked at various bike shops in Rockford and DeKalb. He assisted in biking clinics including the Kid’s Bike Rodeo through the Oregon Park District.
He was predeceased by his father Donald Cline, mother Patricia Aulls, step father Donald Aulls, and nephew Jake Burke.
He is survived by his siblings; Donald Cline of Phoenix, Ariz., Dennis Cline of Assumption, Ill., Debra Cline of Rock Falls, Dawn (Bob) Burke of Oregon, and Dana Cline, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and last but not least, all of his amazing local friends that added so much joy and comfort during this difficult time.
A heartfelt thank you to Hospice for the care and comfort they provided Dave.
