OREGON – Calling all dog lovers – this is a HOWL’ween event you won’t want to miss.

Enter your dog in the Oregon Park District HOWL’ween Canine Costume Contest on Monday, Oct. 18. All are invited to come and watch and see the parading pooches in their costumes. To participate you don’t have to have a Wiggly Field Membership, but all non-members are asked to show proof of Rabies Vaccination.

There is a very small fee to participate, and registration is required by Oct. 11 to ensure each pup gets a small HOWL’oween treat. Also, keep in mind that all costumes must be family friendly.  The parade of pooches begins at 5:30 p.m.

Judging will follow with awards to the winning canines. Categories for judging include Best Purchased Costume, Best Homemade Costume and Best Group Costume (multiple dogs or pet/owner coordinating costumes).

This event is co-sponsored with Pines Meadow Vet Clinic with some donations from other local pet friendly business. To register visit www.oregonpark.org or call Nash Recreation Center at 815-732-3101. For more information contact debbie@oregonpark.org or call the Park District.
